Bona Fides Association and Municipality of Macerata are looking for Polish volunteers, or residents in Poland, to join our 2 different short-term projects in Macerata, Italy. The projects have different topics, one is mostly oriented towards youngsters and one towards elders. FIRST PROJECT: Anffas association and Family Centre of the Municipality of Macerata: activities with children, families and disabled people. 

Volunteers’ Tasks:

The volunteers will be included in the activities of the locations in the following tasks:

Activity 1: supporting the educators and operators of Family Center in the different services offered:

the “Giocare Insieme” (Let’s play together), a space devoted to families, especially those with pre-school age children (0-3 years old), where they are engaged in recreational activities which are beneficial for individual development and familiar relations.

“Centro Educativo” (Educational Centre), an educational service where volunteers will support primary and secondary school children with their homework (especially English homework) and organize afterschool activities depending on their interests and in agreement with educators.

“Centro di aggregazione per disabili” (Centre for disabile people), a space devoted to families with disabled teenagers which aimes at improving their relational and communicative skills as well as and their autonomy.

Activity 2: supporting the educators, social workers and the other figures during the educational and entertainment activities for disabled people residing in the Anffas facilities

Activity 3: Italian language classes

Activity 4: Social inclusion: Intercultural activities in partnership with ESN Macerata

The volunteers will work max 35/38 hours per week with the availability to work sometimes with turnation in the weekend or in the evening; the volunteers will have 2 free days per week.

Volunteers requisites:
No specific requisite is needed. However, a degree in Social Sciences will be valued positively as well as a good knowledge of English and a basic knowledge of Italian. Volunteers should be interested in working with children and disabled people and ideally have some experiences in this field. They should have strong interpersonal skills, be proactive and adaptable, as well as able to work in an intercultural group.

Food and Accommodation:
The volunteers will be accommodated in a shared apartment (shared double bedroom) near the city centre and the hosting organization will give them the food allowance monthly.

SECOND PROJECT: Sportello InformAnziani IRCR Macerata: social and recreational activities with old people.  

Volunteers’ Tasks:
The volunteers will be included in the following activities:
Activity 1: supporting the operators of the “Sportello InformAnziani” in the following task:

  • reception at the “Sportello InformAnziani”;
  • home delivery of medications, picking up prescriptions and purchasing medications;
  • accompanying elderly, unable to use public transport (hospitals, doctors, supermarkets etc);
  • preparation, printing and distribution of informative material in places where elderly spend time,
    as well as updating the website;
  • preparation of entertainment activities for elders

Activity 2: Italian language classes
