Bona Fides Association along with Language center KROODO Tsentr „Initsiativa”, are looking for creative and disciplined Polish volunteers, or residents in Poland, to join our project in Russia to work with children . The volunteer works in collaboration with Russian ESL teachers to think of and develop interesting creative or research projects (workshops) for kids aged 7-10 and teens aged 11-17, help to accompany children to the restaurant, organize different indoor and outdoor games and activities during the summer camp.
One camp shift lasts for 10 days. Camp time-schedule:
10.00-13.00 – English lessons, 13.30-14.30 – lunch time, leisure time, 14.30-17.00 – Intercultural activities, cultural and entertainment events.
The volunteer is supposed to prepare creative or research workshops for every day of the camp shift together with the ESL teacher before the camp, and hold the 1,5 hour workshops during the first part of the day. There is always a coordinator to help and support the volunteers and organize the children. During the lunch break the volunteer accompanies the group to the restaurant to have lunch together. After lunch the volunteer is free to have rest, prepare for the next day and write a blog about his/her adventures.
Apart from the camp the volunteer will have various trainings and hold several informal meetings himself/herself. During the summer the volunteer will have a 2-week break from the camp to learn the Russian language in a group at the “Enjoy Russian” school (40 lessons) and participate in cultural events, meetings and parties with other foreign students and Russian volunteers to learn about Russian culture and practice Russian.
Accommodation: generally, the volunteers stay in Russian host families to get fully immersed into Russian lifestyle, culture and language.
