Bona Fides Association and ADVIT Moldova are looking for 1 Polish volunteer or resident in Poland to join our ESC project in Chisinau, Moldova. The project mainly regards activities with disabled children, developing different activities and seeking the best conditions for them in the social center. The two hosting organisations are Atentie and Small Groups Home.
Atentie Moldova is a non-profit association and a social services provider. Their beneficiaries are children with disabilities, vulnerable children. Nowadays they are working with 20 children with different types of disabilities.
Its main activities are based on:
– Psychological recovery
– Speech Therapy
– Music Therapy
– Primary medical assistance
To achieve its goals the organisation develops the children’s abilities through:
– Drawing in pencil, watercolour, gouache.
– Embroidery, crocheting, working with the bead.
– Literacy activities
– Lunch serving
– Excursions, walking
Family Type Placement for Children „Small Group Homes” aims to provide a temporary home to vulnerable children, also to children who are without family, who need social and pedagogical rehabilitation. The placement lasts until the children’s reintegration with their biological or extended families. If this is not possible an alternative placement is identified.
The main objective is to offer a temporary home for children who are to be reintegrated into their birth family or to be placed in a foster care family.
The age of the children is from 3 – 18 years. The Center provides social services for the beneficiaries, to develop the abilities for independent life and self-care. Also, the children are encouraged to participate in the day to day routine and household, as well as in other activities.
- – Working with disabled children, going on walks with them, conducting outdoor activities: sports, running sessions, playing with them, preparing small workshops and presentations, actively engage in the activities planned by the educators. Here the volunteer is also free to propose activities to implement according to their interest and personal initiative.
- – Participating with all the staff in the organisation of the sanitary day every week, this is when all offices and spaces for children are cleaned
- – Assisting with language courses
- – Assisting the educators and teachers in the organisation and facilitation of day-to-day activities with children (sports, games, visits around the city: to parks, museums, meetings, hygiene, educational activities, etc.)
- – Assist the psychologist in organising different developing activities (e.g. activities to develop visual senses)
- – Networking with children from our centre in order to naturally establish a connection between the kids and the volunteers;
- – Paperwork: translation of documents, elaboration of small reports and researches about profiles of beneficiaries.
- – Working on the organisation’s website: writing articles and reports on the life of the organisation and their experiences, promotion of the European Solidarity Corps programme
- – The volunteer is expected to bring his/her creativity, project ideas, experience in, for example, arts and cultural expressions and/or sports and games to work and participate, support and lead different kinds of projects that are developed at our centre.
- – The volunteer will bring his/her experiences from another culture and the process of getting familiar with Moldovan society to everyday work and life.
- – The language learning process will continue on a daily basis in the work environment through communication with co-workers, youngsters and the people in the community.
- – It is important for everyone involved (our beneficiaries, the staff and the volunteers themselves) to broaden their view of the world, to stimulate them to be more open and tolerant towards different cultures and to learn from each other.
