Bona Fides Association and   Consorzio Solidarietà Sociale Forlì-Cesena are looking for young people who can’t realise their lives without hearing children’ laugh and are ready to help Educational Cente Villa Gesuita with creating activities for children. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Evs project will be in an Educational Center called Villa Gesuita, for children, in the city of Forli! The main activities are helping with homework and creating workshops and games for the children.

During the afternoon, Villa Gesuita hosts about 50 children from 6 to 15 years old, among whom there are some second-generation immigrants and some children in a situation with fewer economical opportunities, and to whom the centre offers the chance to develop training, ludic and workshop activities.

MAIN TASKS FOR VOLUNTEERS:

  • Tutoring: the staff organize small study groups in which young people do their homework, search additional information and are helped with
    eventual learning difficulties.
  • Workshops and Atelier: the workshops are places in which young people “learn by doing” and “do in order to learn”. There are different types of workshops from corporal expression to the creation of objects, from reading and writing to music and art.
  • Summer camp: at the end of the school year, “Villa Gesuita” becomes a summer camp and it is open all day long (7.30 a.m – 6 p.m.) with activities like games, workshops, small trips and educational visits, swimming pool, dance and holiday homework.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The volunteer will share a double room in a flat in the city centre 2 km far from the hosting organisation and will live with other European volunteers or university students. The volunteer will receive 120€ each month as pocket money and 150€ for food and will be given a bicycle to move freely in the city. In this moment we host 6 European volunteers involved in different projects.

TRAINING DURING THE PROJECT

On arrival training, mid-term evaluation intercultural activities support in the organisation Italian course etc.

VOLUNTEER PROFILE

We are looking for a person from EU COUNTRIES, with a basic knowledge of Italian, willing to live an amazing experience with children.
