PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Cologne Volunteer Center is a local coordinating organisation and we coordinate several hosting projects in Köln, Germany. We coordinate the following hosting projects:

ALTENZENTRUM PORZ – URBACH

The ALTENZENTRUM PORZ-URBACH belongs to the Catholic parish of Christ the King. It is located in the Porz-Urbach district of Cologne. The modern and spacious facility focuses on different main areas of care for the elderly. Our goal is to create a place of security and well-being for the residents. In our care and support, we orientate ourselves towards the wishes and needs of our residents.

BUNDESVERBAND INFORMATION & BERATUNG FÜR NS-VERFOLGTE

The association is committed to the recognition and fair compensation of all victims of Nazi persecution. The employees of the Federal Association provide advice and information on compensation issues and support those affected in recognizing and enforcing their rights to compensation.

DIE ROONIS

“DIE ROONIS” are a Jewish day-care center for toddlers aged 1 to 3 years. The educators look after between ten and twelve children five days a week. DIE ROONIS would like to show the children everyday life and the year with all its events and Jewish holidays. They attach great importance to giving the children time for free play and social learning.

DON BOSCO CLUB

The Don Bosco Club is a Catholic institution for open child and youth work. It combines differentiated offers of leisure education, youth social work and youth work with community-oriented. he aim of the Don Bosco Club is to offer children and young people a space to experience, meet, play and experiment in their free time.

INTERNATIONALE SCHULE

In the Internationale Schule, pupils are already bilingual in primary school, the best prerequisite for acquiring two languages at the native level and learning other foreign languages. You will learn in an international context, in terms of both the curriculum and classmates and teachers, who come from over forty countries and all cultures around the world.

SOMMERBLUT KULTURFESTIVAL

The association wants to take up current political and cultural issues. The goals of the Sommerblut Kulturfestival are to creatively stage taboos, to give impulses for social discourse and further developments and to show the Sommerblut audience other perspectives and new horizons.
