Hello! My name is Zofia, I’m 22 years old and I come from Poland. I’m working in a foster house with kids and teenagers and it’s my first time in such an environment. To gain trust might be hard at the beginning but it’s getting better with every day and every new portuguese word I learn. I’m trying to learn Portuguesse as fast as possible and I already see a big improvement. We have once a week a lesson with Nelson, our really cool and playful teacher, who also helps a lot with the language and makes learning a pleasant process. Last month was Halloween and kids at my workplace were very excited about it. For a week before it we played monsters everyday, chasing each other in scary masks. We laughed a lot during that time and had some good cardio workout. We also play a lot of football (both real and table football) and ping pong. I am very happy to be here and I’m so glad I was able to come to Portugal even despite coronavirus. O Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade é financiado pela Comissão Europeia

Portugal, Outubro de 2020
My name is Laura Maria from Poland and I’m 25 years old! I finished my master degree one year ago, immediately after that I went to travel through SE Asia for 10 months on my own by hitchhiking, and now after all those experiences, I wanted to try something new what can help me get new skills and possibilities. That’s why I’m here, taking part in a volunteering project in Portugal. I think it’s great opportunity! It’s already one month when I arrived in Portugal, first days passed with organizational matters and welcoming meeting which could bring us closer to the whole project. Me and my international’s Flatmates started to know each other better day by day. My first days at work were a bit confusing for me, but very fast, me and kids from foster house where I work, become closer. We are doing together a lot activities like dancing, singing karaoke, drawing, handmade decorations for Halloween like garlands and masks, Halloween makeup or even Halloween party, sometimes we go out to walk around or stay in the park to play basketball, football or just do a picnic with self-baked cookies! Thanks for them and my Portuguese classes which I really enjoy I learn Portuguese more and more each day. O Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade é financiado pela Comissão Europeia
