Description of Grenzenlos
Grenzenlos is an Austrian non-governmental organization based in Vienna. It is a non-profit association and independent of any religions and political bodies. Grenzenlos has been involved in intercultural exchange and volunteering programmes for 75 years, since it was founded in 1949.
The German word “grenzenlos” means “no boundaries” and also “no limits”. The word explains the basic mission of Grenzenlos: to promote the personal development of individuals (no limits) and intercultural understanding through international encounters, trainings, intercultural living and work experience (no boundaries). We are a small team of about 13 staff members plus one ESC volunteer per year. Our office is located in Vienna, Austria.

The Projects:
1. TANZ DIE TOLERANZ: a participatory dance project, bringing people of different ages, genders, ethnicities, religions, social backgrounds, etc. together through dance.
Project dates: 01.05.2025 – 31.03.2026
Duration: 11 months

2. “Grenzenlos without barriers” – placement for motivated youngsters with disabilities to join our team in Vienna!
Project dates: 01.05.2025 – 31.10.2025
Duration: 6 months
The ESC placement at Grenzenlos is exclusively available for youngsters with disabilities.
No previous experiences, skills, or knowledge are required.
However, applicants should be motivated and eager to contribute to the work of our NGO (office work but also interactive/social activities), and interested in intercultural exchange and the world of volunteering.
Within the Grenzenlos work areas, the specific tasks and activities of the volunteer will be adapted to the volunteer’s skills, interests, and abilities. You can find more details in the attached project description.
