Bona Fides Association is looking for participants from Poland (18-30 yo) for an ESC volunteering project ‘ROOTS AWAKENING’ at the eco-centre in Bulgaria with “Hope for Us” Association.

Duration: 59 days

Project Overview

“Roots awakening” is a volunteer project based in the picturesque village of Bunovo in the Konyavska Mountain, Bulgaria. The project aims to reconnect individuals with nature while promoting sustainable living practices and community engagement.

Main Activities

  • ❇️ Participants will engage in eco-building  projects, using natural materials and traditional building techniques to create structures that are in harmony with the environment.
  • ❇️ Volunteers will learn to grow organic fruits and vegetables using permaculture principles to promote biodiversity and sustainable food production.
  • ❇️ Participants will help build the infrastructure needed to establish a botanical garden, contributing to the conservation and preservation of local plant species.
  • ❇️ Community Building Activities: The project emphasises fostering a sense of community through various activities such as shared meals, cultural exchanges and team building exercises.
  • ❇️ Participation in the initiatives of the local eco-community such as working parties, helping to organise festivals and participating in environmental conservation efforts.

Objectives

  • ❇️ To promote sustainable living practices and healthy lifestyle.
  • ❇️ To support the local community in its efforts towards ecological preservation and community development.
  • ❇️ To provide participants with hands-on experience in eco-building, eco-gardening and community engagement activities.
  • ❇️ To encourage personal growth and development of participants and a sense of connection with nature.
