Bona Fides Association in cooperation with Dansk ICYE – Lisbet Østergaard is looking for 2 Polish participants for a long-term project with Limfjordsskolen in Denmark!



Location: Løgstør, Northern Denmark (a scenic seaside town)
Dates: 15 September 2026 – 26 June 2027
Duration: 8 months

Limfjordsskolen is a residential school for 42 young people with severe learning difficulties, aged 17–20.
Our mission is to equip and strengthen students to become as independent and active in their own lives
as possible, helping them become active citizens in the local community despite their challenges. Located
in the old fishing town of Løgstør, the school sits beautifully on the banks of the Limfjorden, offering a practical, community-based learning environment.


Volunteer’s activities

Volunteers are deeply involved in the social and educational life of the students. Your tasks include:

Social Life: Playing games, going to the cinema, shopping, visiting cafés, and joining trips or tours.
Educational Support: Assisting in interest areas such as Nature, Sport & Health, Art, and Music.
Workshop Involvement: Supporting the protected workshop where adults engage in theatre, cooking, art, and maintenance.
Daily Living: Helping students in their family groups to foster independence in a residential setting.


What will you learn

During your stay at Limfjordsskolen, you will gain experience in:
Special Needs Education: Insight into specially designed curriculum and pedagogical methods for young people with severe disabilities.
Social Work & Care: Skills in supporting independence and personal development in a residential school setting.
Intercultural Communication: Experience working within a Danish professional environment with teachers and social workers.
Facilitation: Planning and running social activities, games, and creative workshops.


Practical information

Accommodation: Provided in apartments.
Working Hours: Approximately 30–35 hours per week.


Volunteer’s profile

We are looking for volunteers who meet the following requirements:

Age: Over 22 years old.
Mindset: Willing to be part of a learning community for disabled young people.
Engagement: Ready to contribute skills and effort to daily life and learn from our professional staff.
Qualities: Patient, empathetic, and motivated to support students with severe learning difficulties.
