My name is Kasia and I’m from Poland. I’m currently doing an 11-month volunteering project in Almería, Spain. It’s already my fifth month here, and I absolutely love it. My organisation feels like one big family. It is a place that creates many cultural events, from flamenco performances to concerts, theatre shows, workshops, and language exchanges.

My tasks include creating materials for social media, producing clips for music videos, and recording content for a documentary about RETO — a program that promotes activities against hate speech, intolerance, and inequalities.
Apart from my daily tasks, I attend Spanish classes twice a week. When I arrived, my Spanish level was very low, but now I can clearly see my progress, which makes me very happy and satisfied.
I live with two other volunteers who are staying here for the whole year as well, and we really enjoy living together. Spain has a lot to offer when it comes to nature. We live near Cabo de Gata, a natural park with many hiking routes and amazing beaches.
I would fully recommend this volunteering experience to everyone.
