Tym razem projekt w słonecznej Hiszpanii, trudny i wymagający sporej dozy tolerancji. Wolontariusze EVS będą uczestniczyć w obszarze zapobieganie: szybkiego reagowania związanego z HIV, dystrybucją materiałów prewencyjnych udzielaniem wsparcia przez sieci społecznościowe lub osobiście, kampanie uświadamiające, zarządzanie sieciami społecznymi organizacji Associació de Lluita Anti-Sida de les Illes Balears i zbliżeniem się do wszystkich grup związanych z HIV, LGBT i grup społecznie wykluczonych.
Environment and ALAS organization:
ALAS (Associació de Lluita Anti-Sida de les Illes Balears) is a non-profit organization established in 1987. Our aim is to prevent new HIV infections and to look after and to advice to all affected people in order to improve their lifes.
Our target group is: men who have sex with men, sex workers and youth.
Our main activities are: prevention and psycho-social assistance.
Our headquarters is located in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), but also we take care of several users from other areas of the islands.
We are also working closely with other organizations related to HIV and LGTBI fields.
ALAS is cooperating from our beginning with a lot of local volunteers who are taking part in all our activities.
At present our team is making an effort in order to approach the HIV rapid test to all population. We are carrying out several tests every month. One of our main activities is also to carry out awereness campaigns about HIV and HIV among young people. We organize events as well as a fundraising and to approach HIV to all our community. We struggle against HIV stigma.
Tasks
Our volunteers are going to take part in Prevention area:
– HIV rapid test,
– distribution of preventive material,
– providing support by social nets or by in person,
– awereness campaigns,
– management of our social nets and to approach to all groups related HIV, LGTBI and social inclusion.
Criteria
We are looking for a volunteer older than 21 years old, with a high level of maturing, sociable and with an special sensitivity to the struggle against HIV and to other groups as people living with HIV, sex workers or LGTBI group. We also are going to take into account some specific knowledge within social-health field. Some spanish level would be great.
