About the hosting organisation
• Proyecto Kieu is an NGO dedicated to local development in La Sagra (Toledo), Spain. Since 2010, we’ve been working with young people in our community to foster awareness, participation, critical thinking, and self-social development. Partnering with local municipalities, we aim to expand youth opportunities and bring in new resources. Our strategy is to unite resources across villages, enhancing existing opportunities and creating new ones through collaboration.
About the project
Volunteers play a key role in our community, serving as role models who inspire local youngsters to step out of their comfort zones and take action. We focus on those with fewer opportunities, as many in La Sagra face economic hardship and limited prospects for education or employment.
Through our actions, we aim to:
• Increase youth participation in La Sagra
• Foster solidarity and social engagement
• Promote the values of the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+
• Promote the values of gender equality, environmental responsibility, and solidarity.
• Promote environmental education and raise awareness about sustainable development
• Support volunteers’ personal and professional growth
• Expand opportunities for autonomy and development in La Sagra
• Encourage creativity, initiative, and social involvement

All three projects happen in the same organizations and volunteers live together, the difference is in the activities:
1. First set of activities
• Help build and maintain a community garden from the ground up.
• Lead activities and workshops for young people, encouraging them to adopt sustainable practices
• Promote environmental awareness in a fun and interactive way
• Collaborate with local communities to create a lasting impact
• Collaborate in maintaining order in the youth center.
• Design educational materials and environmental learning activities
• Organise reforestation days and ecological awareness initiatives
• Design communication materials, take photos and create posters
• Participate in the coordination meetings with the other volunteers.
• Participate in volunteer training and mentoring
• Help to organize the activities and events of Proyecto Kieu .
• Support environmental education events and campaigns in schools and community spaces
• Promote volunteering and international Erasmus + and ESC projects.
• Participate in mentoring and coordination meetings organized by the project mentor and tutor.
• Collaborate actively for a good co-living at home
2. Second set of activities
• Creation of audiovisual materials to promote volunteering, including videos, interviews, and testimonials
• Development of social media and digital campaigns using digital marketing and storytelling strategies.
• Design of graphic and multimedia content to disseminate information about projects, such as infographics, posters, and brochures
• Writing articles and posts for blogs, newsletters, and local and international media outlets
• Coverage of volunteering events through photography and video for further dissemination
• Organisation of workshops and talks to raise awareness about the importance of volunteering and youth participation
• General support of the Communication department of Proyecto Kieu – tasks related to other projects of the association
• Participate in the coordination meetings with the other volunteers.
• Participate in volunteer training and mentoring
• Help to organize the activities and events of Proyecto Kieu .
• Participate in mentoring and coordination meetings organized by the project mentor and tutor.
• Collaborate actively for a good co-living at home
3. Third set of activities
• Collaborate in the elaboration of the program of activities of the month
• Relate with the users of the Youth center
• Prepare and lead the “English coffee” activity with the exchange groups.
• Help to organize activities – prepare the place, organize the group of people, prepare the materials.
• Collaborate in maintaining order in the youth center.
• Organize activities in the Youth Center according to the needs of the youth and the indications of the youth worker.
• Lead activities in the Youth Center
• Design communication materials, take photos and create posters
• Participate in the coordination meetings with the other volunteers.
• Participate in volunteer training and mentoring
• Help to organize the activities and events of Proyecto Kieu .
• Administrative support in the Proyecto Kieu office
• Promote volunteering and international Erasmus + and ESC projects.
• Participate in mentoring and coordination meetings organized by the project mentor and tutor.
• Collaborate actively for a good co-living at home
Volunteer’s profile
• Between 18 and 30 years.
• EU resident.
• Motivated to work with young people
• It’s not mandatory to speak Spanish, but you should be motivated to learn it.
• The volunteers will recieve 1 hour weekly of Spanish classes
