PROJECT DESCRIPTION
40 km far from Paris, MJC Fernand Léger Centre Social organization develops activities and projects with different kinds of publics: children, teenagers, adults. It provides everyone the opportunity to recognize his/her own attitudes, develop their own personality and prepare to become active and responsible citizens.
The MJC offers various artistic activities (music, dance, visual arts) and social projects (weekly parents meetings, a sustainable development festival, French lessons for foreign people, a shared kitchen, etc.)
TASKS AND ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEER
The volunteer will join a team of 7 people and will participate to:
- Raise awareness of sustainable development, waste minimization, consumption habits
- Weekly activities with high school students and organising a festival for young people about artistic expression
- Present European values and trans-national mobility opportunities.
VOLUNTEER’S PROFILE
We look for volunteer loving sharing experiences with people and wanting to work with different kinds of publics: children, teenagers, adults, someone passionate, responsible and potentially independent, speaking at least a little bit of French.
ACCOMMODATION, TRAINING, AND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will be hosted in a 42 m2 independent apartment located only 300 meters far from the organisation. He/she will receive money to buy his/her own food that he/she can cook in the apartment. He/she could travel by metro, bus or train for free in all Paris area.
The volunteer could participate in free French lessons all over his/her mission. He/she could also participate in training about cultural mediation.
Moreover, the volunteers will regularly meet other volunteers hosted by MJCs located in Ile-de-France region. These meetings will be organised by Fédération des MJC in Ile-de-France. Their aim will be sharing experiences, reinforce linguistic and social skills and develop a common project in a group dynamics.
