The project takes place in the small rural village of Lampinsaari in Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. Lampinsaari attracts people with beautiful nature and tranquility. Lampinsaari has a colorful history as a lively mining village. After the mine was closed in the 1990s, some villagers decided to stay and build new grounds for the community. A former school building has been transformed into a community centre that offers facilities for e.g. summer camps and leisure time activities. ‘Gunnar’s Mansion’ was born.

The hosting organisation wants to provide services and activities, including a brand new festival, for the locals and visitors.

Volunteers’ tasks include e.g.

– producing works of art/music/culture/handicrafts (depending on volunteers’ own skills and interests)
– creating and producing media contents, especially for international audiences
