Bona Fides Association and Solidarites Jeunesses are looking for Polish participants (aged 18-30) for 2-weeks ESC workcamp “BETWEEN ALLEYS AND CANALS” with Association Citrus (Laguépie) in France!

Place: Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, France
Dates: 08.11.2025 – 23.11.2025
Duration: 2 weeks

PROJECT

Since 2002, the Citrus Association has been organizing international workcamps in the Tarn-et-Garonne region. Every year, dozens of volunteers from around the world take part in public-interest technical projects at the heart of a village. This year, the project will take place in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, a medieval town recognized as one of the favourite villages of the French. Volunteers from all over the globe will come together to participate in a collective effort, promoting the values of sharing, cultural exchange, and solidarity upheld by Solidarités Jeunesses!

WORK

Immerse yourself in the charming atmosphere of Saint-Antonin- Noble-Val, officially listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France,” famous for its narrow streets and 19th-century stone canals that give the place a picturesque look. In this maze of alleys, you’ll help restore and renovate one particular alley, which has become damaged and unusable. The goal is to make it passable and pleasant again.

You’ll work under the guidance of a professional carpenter, who oversees road maintenance for the town. Each morning on weekdays, you’ll remove the asphalt from a section of the street, replacing it with a stone-paved surface (“calade”). This will be a great opportunity to learn construction and masonry techniques. Since the street is long, the restoration will continue into 2026 to complete the full project.

In addition, you’ll help clean and clear the historic canals, which are a key feature of the local landscape and require regular upkeep. You’ll also help revamp a small square currently being used as a parking lot. As in all of our projects, some of you will prepare meals for the group each morning, working as a team in the kitchen.

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD

You’ll be staying in dormitories at Moulin Roumegous, a guesthouse located right next to the work site. Mattresses and pillows are provided—you just need to bring your sleeping bag.

Every day, together with the other volunteers, you’ll cook meals for the whole group, based on menus you create as a team. Special attention will be given to seasonal and local foods, and specific dietary needs can be discussed with the group leaders.

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

On the edge of Tarn-et-Garonne, you’ll enjoy a variety of leisure activities: visiting medieval villages, hiking, and more. Some activities will include meeting local residents to share your experience with them. In the evenings and on weekends, let your imagination lead the way—host game nights, organize a folk dance, enjoy musical moments, etc. And of course, don’t miss the international dinner, open to all, where you’ll share culinary specialties from your country with locals and visitors!
