Bona Fides Association in cooperation with Dansk ICYE – Lisbet Østergaard is looking for 2 Polish participants for a long-term project with Limfjordsskolen in Denmark!

Location: Løgstør, Northern Denmark (a scenic seaside town)
Dates: 20 September 2026 – 30 June 2027
Duration: 9 months

Limfjordsskolen is a residential school for young disabled people between 17 and 20 years of age. The school offers a specially designed education based on the students individual competences and challenges and this education is given to all young people who cannot complete a normal youth education even with extra assistance and adapted curriculum.
The main purpose of the school is to equip and strengthen the students in becoming as independent and active in their own life as possible, and in spite of their handicap be an active citizen in the local community.
Volunteer’s activities
Practical Educational Support: Assist teachers and social workers in daily life training, including cooking, cleaning, and teaching support.
Social and Leisure Engagement: Participate actively in the students’ free time by playing games, shopping, going to the cinema or cafés, and joining trips.
Workshop Involvement: Help facilitate student interest tracks such as Nature, Sport & Health, Art, and Media.
Protected Workshop Collaboration: Work with adults with severe learning difficulties on arts, maintenance, and international mime mask theatre productions.
What will you learn
• Insight into special needs pedagogy and individualized education.
• Experience supporting youth with severe learning difficulties in a residential setting.
• Skills in adaptive communication, life-skills coaching, and behavioral support.
• Experience facilitating diverse activities (Nature, Sport, Art, Music, and Theatre).
• Knowledge of Danish social work practices and community integration.
• An international professional and social network working alongside teachers and social workers.
Practical information
Accommodation: private room, shared facilities; rent and food expenses covered by the host organization
Language: Danish and English support
Working hours: Work 30–35 hours per week, with daytime hours adjusted when participating in evening activities
Days off: 2.5 days per month – according to volunteer program structure.
