Tasks of the volunteer: The project is open to young people willing to play an active role in the society. The main objective of the project “From talk to action” is to enhance the understanding of what being active really means, why it is so important to be active, and how to act and cooperate with other people, especially those from different generations or belong to disadvantaged groups, with fewer opportunities.
The most difficult issue connected with teaching people how to be active is that most of them find it not very interesting. That is why the aim of the project is to show them, how to use their interests to find something that will be both interesting for them and useful for the society. For this reason, the main tasks of the volunteer will be:
– Working out the initiative within the project (preparing workshops and informational meetings about active citizenship and cultural awareness).

– Preparing and submitting a questionnaire to investigate and research people’s awareness in the field of cultural diversity among young people

– Making presentations and organizing debates in schools and cultural centres to discover the possibilities to become an active citizen at a local\regionala and national level, and to discuss the concept of active citizenship

– Creating and leading debate-clubs and other activities related to topics like civic engagement, social development, multiculturalism, project management to allow local people to share their experience and their ideas to become more socially active.
The planned activities are mostly informational, indeed our main objective is to inform, to show and explain to local people what being an active citizenship means.

Accommodation and funding: The accommodation is provided by the hosting organization. The volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment with other EVS volunteers, in flat with kitchen, washing machine, WiFi internet, fridge).
The volunteers will be provided with food allowance and pocket money (volunteers will receive money for food in amount 100 EUR per month calculated in Belarussian ruble and a pocket money of 55 EUR per month). The volunteers will be provided with an activity plan as well as safe working conditions and work-related support and/or training to enable their full integration into the project. The volunteers will work from Monday to Friday, approximately 6 hours per day, from 10:00-17:00 with one hour for lunch, hours may vary according to the project’s activities, and the volunteers can be asked to work additional days in a weekend if needed.
The volunteers will be supported by a coordinator, who will assist in task related and EVS related administrative aspects (financial and documentation matters and legal stay of the volunteers). Finally, the volunteers will be also supported by a mentor who will give volunteers practical information about the town – food, shopping, local transport and help them solving any kind of possible obstacles during the whole project duration. The volunteers are offered a Russian course.

Participants’ profile: We are looking for two volunteers who are willing to be socially active and ready to help the Belarussian social community to become more aware of the importance of the social activism.
We want two volunteers with positive attitude, energy and good ideas, willing to carry out outdoor and indoor activities, to share their experiences with others, who would like to explore Minsk and Belarus to learn something about Belarus, Belarusian people, culture, history and language, would like to work with people – youths and all people interested in the topic. We want two volunteers who want to work as volunteers, to be at the service of others. Our volunteers should be open, ready to work with a group, share his/her flat
with other volunteers, should be flexible, spontaneous and creative. They should be also independent (they will receive anyway as much support as they need). Generally, the volunteers should be aware of the main activities they will carry out in this project, desire to learn more about it, to take challenges and new initiatives.
